Dwarka — the legendary kingdom of Lord Krishna — centres on the soaring Dwarkadhish Temple and its sunset aarti, with the island shrine of Beyt Dwarka and the Nageshwar Jyotirling close by. South down the coast lies Somnath, the first of the twelve jyotirlings, rebuilt again and again on the very edge of the sea. The loop ends at Diu, a sleepy former-Portuguese island of whitewashed forts, sea-cave temples and the palm-lined sands of Nagoa Beach.
