Matheran Monsoon — Backpacking & Trekking

Matheran, Maharashtra 4N / 5D4.9 (0 reviews)

Trip overview

Tucked into the Western Ghats 90 km from Mumbai, Matheran is India's only motor-vehicle-free hill station — a slice of the 18th century where every view point is earned on foot along dense woods and red-mud trails. In the monsoon it transforms: clouds roll through the canopy, streams swell into waterfalls, and on windy ledges water blows back upward in the famous 'reverse waterfall'. This is a genuine backpacking and trekking trip — graded Easy in difficulty with Moderate endurance, so expect plenty of walking — but the stay and food stay comfortably above basic. Costs range from ₹5,790 per person (ex-Matheran) to ₹8,490 per person (ex-Ahmedabad / Baroda / Surat by 3AC train), with Mumbai pick-up and dual/couple-sharing options available. 5% GST applies.
